Visit to the Bolton Food & Drink Festival

Our committee member Petra Fischer and her husband Wilfried recently visited the Food & Drink Festival in Bolton as delegates of the Club. During their stay they had the honour to meet the acting mayor Akhtar Zaman and to accompany him at many events. They attended the opening of the festival, cooking demonstrations by Hairy Bikers and Ainsley Harriott, a fashion railway exhibition and Andy Smith’s superb art exhibition, among others. There were more than 180 food, drink, art and craft stalls in the town centre. And the selection of food at the various stalls was exceptional and very tempting. The live bands were fantastic. “We had many great encounters and have fond memories of the Food & Drink Festival in Bolton,” says the Fischer couple.
